Happy International Day for Women in Maritime!
This International Day for Women in Maritime, we recognise and celebrate the women across BW LPG and the wider maritime community who contribute every day to keeping global trade moving – onboard our vessels, ashore, and across every part of our operations.
At BW LPG, we are proud to support a more diverse and inclusive maritime industry by creating opportunities for women to grow, lead, and thrive in seafaring careers.
A meaningful example of this commitment is BW LPG India’s Female Cadets Scholarship Programme, launched in 2021 to encourage more women to pursue maritime careers. Supporting 33 cadets in 2025 through scholarships at the Indian Maritime University, the programme helps aspiring female seafarers pursue academic excellence and build a more inclusive future for the industry.
This year’s International Maritime Organization (IMO) theme, “From Policy to Practice: Advancing Gender Equality for Maritime Excellence,” reflects the importance of turning commitment into meaningful action – something we continue to strive for across our organisation.
Today, we celebrate the women shaping the future of maritime and reaffirm our commitment to supporting equal opportunities for future generations of seafarers.
