Norway-India High-Level Summit

Norway-India High-Level Summit

It was a great honour for the Norwegian business community to engage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Norway-India High-Level Summit this week.

The programme featured keynote remarks from distinguished speakers, a signing ceremony, and a high-level roundtable discussion attended by Prime Minister Modi, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and HRH Crown Prince Haakon.

As a key participant in the Indian market, BW LPG was honoured to contribute to the discussions. CEO Kristian Sørensen addressed the summit, highlighting BW LPG’s large fleet of LPG vessels with Indian flag and Indian crew, as well as the company’s long-term commitment to the country through investments of approximately USD 500 million in its Indian fleet over the past six years. BW LPG’s eight India-linked vessels have transported an estimated 15-20% of India’s LPG imports in recent years.

Kristian Sørensen also expressed BW LPG’s appreciation to the Indian authorities for their support in ensuring the safe transit of two BW LPG vessels through the Strait of Hormuz following recent disruptions in the Persian Gulf.

The summit underscored the strength of the Norway–India partnership and the significant opportunities that lie ahead for deeper cooperation across the maritime and energy sectors.
