15th August is a proud day for every Indian citizen because on this day, all citizens and those who call India home commemorate India’s Independence Day.
The occasion is often celebrated with the hoisting of the Indian flag, singing of the national anthem and chanting slogans of support for India. On this day, our seafarers unfurled our tri-color flag and saluted smartly onboard. Some vessel interiors were decorated with flags and balloons, and Cooks onboard baked cakes and prepared special meals for a party amongst colleagues at sea.
